THE BCH ARCHIVE

In every rural parish there are a handful of people whose steady commitment quietly shapes community life. They are the ones who turn up, lend a hand, keep traditions going and ensure that neighbours are never without support. Castlemorton has been fortunate to have many such individuals over the years, but few contributed as fully or as faithfully as Ron and Joan Bedford. For more than five decades, the Bedfords were woven into the fabric of village life – working, volunteering, raising their family and giving generously of their time and energy.

The account in BCH Journal 5  traces their story: where they came from, how they made their home at Glebe Cottage and the many ways in which they helped sustain the church, village activities and the wider parish community. It is a tribute to two people whose lives embodied the best of rural neighbourliness and service.
